Western Avenue, Old South End

A G.A.R. convention in Downtown Toledo. 1890's.

Toledo

Columbian High School, Tiffin, Ohio

This has to be one of the most impressive towers I've ever seen on a school.
Northwest Ohio seems to have put a lot of effort into school design.
I understand the building's for sale. Certainly hope something worthwhile is done with it.
The dormers are nice, and I'm surprised those pinnacles have survived.
Photos by Kevin Hammer.
And an older postcard view.

Government Center, Downtown Toledo

It was designed by the architect of the World Trade Center. I'll never forget a librarian giving directions to it by saying it looks like an old IBM computer card.

My Cousin the Cartoonist

Works by William Donahey.
I think his work's adorable.
Not exactly politically correct, even for his time, though.

Immaculate Conception Church, Old South End

Downtown Toledo

I believe this might be a merchant marine training ship. Can't think of any other reason for it to have been tied up behind an office complex.
