Firehouse, Old South End

The tower was used for drying the firehoses.

That's old #9's now located on South St.

I've never been in it but firehouses of that era had wooden floors that eventually rotted out, especially in/near the horse stalls.

15's, 16's, and 17's (all on Detroit Avenue) all suffered the same fate, as I recall...

P.S. I did get to use the old brass pole once, but it was at old # 10's on Fassett St.
