My goodness! Roncalli AND Lanza. What a nostalgia trip for this old head.
By the way, yes, Caruso's recordings have been digitized -- some as long ago as 1976, with many "corrected" to remove the horn resonances. Sorry they neglected to have you sign off on the project(s). (Don't know how many are available currently.)
adrienne -- With great restraint (and unquestionably with divine assistance), I am passing up the chance to tease you about your age and hearing Caruso.
"All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renewed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king.”

It can't be your parents song - it was my parents song. I heart Lanza but Caruso was still better.
But Lanza'a recordings are better preserved, unless they digitalized Caruso without telling me.
