This place is magnificent ... but I can't recall what it was to begin with, if it was always First Church of God or if some other congregation was in there, many years ago ...
Okay, I checked the real estate transfers and also, my mother remembered -- it was First Baptist and 50 years ago, was a very well-heeled congregation. It apparently still is. They built a huge new church out in Holland, 25 or so years ago -- and took some of the stained glass windows with them!
"All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renewed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king.”

"First Church of God"?? Is this located between "Chef's Restaurant" and the "Toledo Art Museum of Art by Artists"?
