The white-haired gentlmen in the launch is the venerable L.R. "Rod" McElroy, a finer and more interesting man can not be found. He was my rowing coach in high school, and still a dear friend. What a pleasant surprise to see him on here!
"All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renewed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king.”

Jeffrey -- where were the first two frames taken? I don't recognize that bandstand/gazebo type structure.
From near the Cherry Street Bridge, looking across to East Toledo. That's Sacred Heart in the background. ( I'll have to post pictures of it. )
