Old West End

I'm not usually partial to Wren-inspired towers, much less ersatz colonial. This, however, is really very good.

Old West End

The Bartley House. Damn shame the one gable collapsed.

Monroe Street

I know nothing about this building, and only noticed these today, by sheer luck.

Alright, People, Listen Up

There are going to be some major announcements in the next month, including the availability ( I ruddy well hope. ) of my first book on Toledo architecture. This one will be about the things you don't notice in Downtown Toledo unless you're either very observant or a fanatic. I qualify as both.

Old West End

Old West End

I got my buildings mixed up. This one's in the 400 block of Bancroft, so you might say it's in disputed territory. Does anyone have an official definition of where Uptown starts?

Later

I'm having computer problems, so I might not blog until next week. Stay tuned.

The Killers

Old West End Commons

St. Adalbert, Lagrinka

First Unitarian, Old West End

Actually, I'm not sure if that's what it was called and I don't care what it's called now. Too many of these little denominations running around out there anyway. I'm not in the mood to look, either.

New Blog

Australia, the new blog from my alter-ego.

Along Bancroft

This is one of the most elaborate brackets I've seen, but the rest of the house is rather simple.

Yes, I'm Bonkers

Footloose and Fancy Free. That's the title of my new just for fun blog. You'll never know what might turn up there, though Australia is a constant presence, as it is in my life at this point. ( YIPPEE!!! )
You'll also notice my new online alter-ego Capt. Sir James Martin Harrow, KGCBP, who is as much the real me as the me you've grown to know and find confusing. The good captain has been stirring things up all over the landscape and plans to expand his realm of mayhem. That's a scary thought.
If you don't like all the changes and reordering of priorities, and if you "want your Roving Medievalist" back, tough. Ain't gonna happen. I'm having too much fun and I personally drove a stake through the old fart's heart. Good riddance.
